The overall design of the conference: AFCEA TechNet Sofia 2023 is the Rgular Annual Conference of AFCEA “Sofia” Chapter held every year in October - November period. Traditionally this event is organized with Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Bulgaria or other Governmental institution dealing with the main topic of the conference. In addition to the leading authority other governmental bodies give main directions of presentations and discussions to their specific sessions. Depending on actual problems and projects we regularely invite promenent speakers from international organizations and institutions and world leading defense and IT companies to share their views and present their solutions to Bularian audience and have discussions with our experts and users in neutral and ethic environment. The current situation with the ongoing Ukraine war and delayed modernization of Armed forces in the large shift of impulses from technological innovations on the battlefield make the scope of this year TechNet rather broad. At the same time it is the right time to hear the evaluation of forces commands about their modified needs and requirements and how the situation assesement has changed their priorities. By debating new approaches in procurement, the conference attendees may help keep up the momentum and support the current awakening in defence procurement, which is necessary to quickly transform inventions and technological options into operational reality. The ever-increasing speed of innovation, especially in IT sector, force us to consider a new approach in defence procurement and relationship to industry. To reflect upon needs, requirements, and solutions in digital technologies and to analyse, discuss and advise on new, more agile methods of acquisition for up-to-date C5ISR solutions and services aswell as cyber security of all society sectors. This year’s TechNet Sofia Conference is not like the others before - it marks an important Anniversary - 30 Years fron Innoguration of AFCEA Chapter in Bulgaria and 30 years of permanent efforts of our members to support National Defense and Security building bridges between Institutions, Industry and Academia. We are happy to gether again our long time members, partners and friends and celebrate this Anniversary!
